Owen Patton.

Owen GangesOwen served on the Devonshire prior to being drafted to HMS Hood. Sadly Owen,lost his life when “Hood was sunk by the German Battleship “Bismark”, on 24th May 1941. From a complement of 1418 men, only three, Of the 1,418 crew,survived. (Ted Briggs (1923–2008), Robert Ernest Tilburn (1921–1995) and William John Dundas (1921–1965)

Owen Paton XmasThe photograph of Owen and pal could possibly have been taken at Christmas,when the youngest aboard ship assumes the roll as officer and the Captain serves  up the Ships Company Lunch! So could Owen have been the youngest on Devonshire?
